USTMA Applauds Senate EPW Committee Passage of Highway Reauthorization Bill Ahead of August Congressional Recess

July 30, 2019

The U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association today issued the following statement commending passage of a highway reauthorization bill by the Senate Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee as part of the effort to reauthorize the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation Act or the FAST Act, which expires in October 2020.

“As a stakeholder industry directly impacted by transportation infrastructure improvements and dedicated to motorist safety, we are pleased to see this important first step in what is likely to be a long process to reauthorize the FAST Act. We respectfully urge all other jurisdictional committees to take the lead of the Senate EPW Committee to continue working in a bipartisan manner to move this important legislation forward,” said Anne Forristall Luke, president and chief executive office of USTMA.
