USTMA Projects 2017 U.S. Tire Shipments to Dip Slightly

The U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association (USTMA) projects that total 2017 U.S. tire shipments will decrease by less than one percent to 316.8 million units compared to 2016. USTMA is the national trade association for tire manufacturers in the U.S.

USTMA expects original equipment passenger tire shipments to decrease by 3.4 million units compared to 2016 while passenger replacement tire shipments are projected to increase by 0.8 million units. Original equipment light truck, original equipment truck and replacement truck tire shipments are expected to increase while replacement light truck tire shipments are projected to decrease.
